Arrest of a Key Suspect in Morocco
Authorities in Morocco have apprehended a 24-year-old suspect, Badiss Mohamed Amide Bajjou, who is believed to be connected to a series of recent kidnappings in France targeting cryptocurrency holders. The arrest occurred on June 4, following a comprehensive investigation by Morocco’s national police, as requested by French justice officials.
Bajjou was reportedly in possession of multiple bladed weapons and several mobile phones at the time of his detention. His arrest came after a Red Notice was issued by Interpol in 2023, leading to France’s request for extradition.

French officials have indicated that Bajjou’s possession of weapons suggests he was operating as part of a wider criminal network. Previous Abductions and Ransom Demands
Earlier on May 3, Parisian police successfully rescued the father of a cryptocurrency entrepreneur who had been held hostage for several days. Kidnappers had demanded a ransom of 7 million euros, equivalent to $7.8 million. The victim was freed through a meticulously planned police operation.
In a separate incident on January 21, David Balland, co-founder of Ledger, was abducted from his residence in central France. Balland was rescued in a nighttime operation the following day, underscoring the growing threat faced by those involved in the cryptocurrency industry.

Interpol’s 2023 alert identified Bajjou as a suspect in previous kidnappings and related activities, prompting French authorities to closely monitor his movements over several months.
