BlackRock’s Bold Move: Significant Inflows in Bitcoin and Ethereum
BlackRock, renowned as the largest asset manager worldwide, has once again captured the financial spotlight. On July 11, 2025, the company recorded remarkable net inflows in both Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), marking a significant moment for the cryptocurrency market.
Major Acquisitions: Bitcoin and Ethereum Inflows
According to data from Arkham Intelligence, BlackRock’s IBIT Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) made a notable acquisition of approximately 613 BTC, which carry a valuation of about $66.75 million. On the same day, the fund experienced an inflow of 9,680 ETH, collectively valued at $25.3 million.
The significance of these inflows is amplified by the simultaneous appreciation in cryptocurrency prices. Together, these factors have resulted in a daily net increase of roughly $2.07 billion for BlackRock’s crypto portfolio, reflecting the substantial gains seen in both BTC and ETH.
BlackRock’s Expanding Asset Portfolio
As a result of these robust inflows, BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF assets under management have now surpassed the $80 billion mark. Impressively, this includes over 700,000 BTC, indicating a strong institutional belief in Bitcoin’s potential as a valuable asset class.
Institutional Confidence and Market Impact
The recent capital surge underscores a growing institutional confidence in Bitcoin, which is increasingly viewed as a viable and strategic investment. Bitcoin’s daily trading volume has surpassed that of Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) by 88% over the past month, showcasing its deep liquidity and the widespread engagement of investors.
IBIT Shares on the Rise
In addition to the inflows, shares of IBIT have displayed impressive momentum, peaking at $66 in after-hours trading on July 10. This upward trend in share value further highlights the positive investor sentiment surrounding BlackRock’s cryptocurrency ventures.
As BlackRock continues to lead the charge in the integration of traditional finance and digital assets, its recent moves signal not only a robust endorsement of cryptocurrencies but also their growing role in the broader financial landscape.
