Our electoral process has long been plagued by issues, with elections being called prematurely and suspicions of fraud running rampant. The 2014 and 2018 elections serve as stark reminders of the flaws in our current system. However, there is hope on the horizon.
In 2018, Sierra Leone conducted a trial of a voting system utilizing the Kiva Protocol. This innovative approach to voting offered a level of transparency and security that traditional methods lack. Similarly, in Thailand, over 120,000 voters participated in the Democrat Party’s primary elections using the Zcoin blockchain. Each vote was securely recorded on an immutable ledger, eliminating the possibility of manipulation.
Imagine if Bangladesh were to adopt such a system. The trust that could be restored in our electoral process is truly remarkable. No more tricks, no more deceit – just a fair and transparent voting system that accurately reflects the will of the people.
