According to Eric Balchunas, a senior analyst at Bloomberg, assets in US spot bitcoin ETFs have reached $84 billion. This amount is two-thirds of what gold ETFs currently hold. Balchunas believes that there is a good chance that bitcoin ETFs will surpass gold ETFs before their first year of existence, contrary to previous predictions that it would take 3-4 years.
