Amazon is gearing up to introduce 1KIN Lab’s innovative Web3 gaming subscription service on its platform. This new offering, crafted by the creators behind GR1D Network, aims to significantly elevate users’ experiences by providing exclusive content and early access opportunities within the GR1D TERMINAL platform and broader GR1D ecosystem.
Amazon Makes a Deal to Change Gaming
1KIN Labs has recently announced the launch of its GR1D TERMINAL platform along with the 1PASS subscription service on Amazon. This venture is poised to offer a unified discovery and management hub for content spanning multiple networks, thereby transforming the blockchain-based gaming experience.
The GR1D TERMINAL platform will enable users to explore the expansive Web3 gaming ecosystem and delve into a variety of titles. The objective is to revolutionize how gamers discover, manage, and collect exclusive rewards across Web3, addressing the sector’s fragmented landscape.
Following a closed Beta period that saw participation from over 25,000 users, the platform aims to introduce new levels of interoperability and user-friendly features. It will provide access to a growing catalog of Web3 games across networks such as Solana, Avalanche, Polygon, and more.
Additionally, 1KIN Labs has unveiled 1PASS alongside GR1D TERMINAL. Available on Amazon, this new subscription service will allow players to unlock exclusive content, gain early access, and enjoy special discounts via the newly launched platform.
Similar to traditional Web2 subscription services like Xbox Games Pass and Amazon Prime Gaming, 1PASS subscribers will have the option to select from monthly unique in-game assets and other exclusive content. This content is provided by over 100 Web3 games and studios within the GR1D ecosystem.
1PASS will be the first Web3 gaming subscription available on the Amazon platform, potentially reaching a massive global user base through the multinational e-commerce giant.
Web3 and Blockchain Gaming: A Promising Future
This announcement follows the launch of the modular Layer-2 (L2) gaming-focused blockchain, GR1D Network, in June. The network aims to create an ecosystem where gamers can effortlessly interact with exclusive assets and rewards, ensuring a dynamic and interconnected future for the industry.
Jack O’Neill, founder of 1KIN Labs, highlighted the company’s mission to make blockchain gaming more accessible and rewarding for users through a unified and user-friendly ecosystem:
With the GR1D TERMINAL, we’re taking a major stride toward realizing our vision of a more cohesive and user-friendly Web3 gaming ecosystem. Our goal has been to create a single access point that bridges the gap between various games and blockchain networks. In essence, we’re bringing the ease and convenience that gamers have come to expect from platforms like Xbox Game Pass into the world of blockchain gaming. This is about making Web3 gaming more accessible and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Industry experts also discussed the promising future of Web3 gaming at the 10th edition of the European Blockchain Convention (EBC10) in Barcelona. According to a report by Bitcoinist, Pablo Monti, BingX’s Brand Manager, noted the sector’s growth after transitioning from the “play-to-earn fever” to a service supporting the broader gaming industry.
Meanwhile, Sebastien Borget, co-founder and COO of The Sandbox, emphasized how players are experimenting with blockchain technology and earning their first NFTs through gaming. Borget highlighted that blockchain games have become a gateway to Web3, focusing on empowering the creator economy and offering a fresh approach to the challenges faced by traditional Web2 gaming.
As the total crypto market capitalization reaches $2.21 trillion, the integration of Web3 gaming on mainstream platforms like Amazon signals a significant shift in the gaming landscape. This collaboration not only promises to enhance user experiences but also paves the way for a more interconnected and rewarding gaming future.
