Mi Primer Bitcoin, also known as My First Bitcoin, has recently announced the much-anticipated fourth edition of their Bitcoin Educators Unconference. The organization has disclosed the event’s details, revealing that it will be moving from Nashville back to the birthplace of their initiative.
Bitcoin Educators Returns to Its Roots
Mi Primer Bitcoin (MPB) is a renowned non-profit organization based in El Salvador dedicated to spreading knowledge about Bitcoin (BTC) globally. Known for hosting the innovative Bitcoin Educators Unconference, MPB brings together industry experts and Bitcoin enthusiasts from around the world to engage in meaningful discussions and collaborations.
The fourth edition of the Unconference is slated to occur in two months, with the event making a return to El Salvador’s capital city, San Salvador. This location holds significant importance as it was where the first Unconference took place just a year ago.
Following successful events in Madeira and Nashville, the upcoming Unconference is scheduled to be held at the Cadejo Brewing Company on November 14 at 10:00 AM (GMT-6). This event will precede the Adopting Bitcoin conference, making it a pivotal moment for Bitcoin enthusiasts in the region.
Unconference Highlights
The Unconference is designed to be a BTC-only event where the 150 attendees have the unique opportunity to become speakers. Participants will pitch their ideas at the beginning of the day, shaping the sessions and activities to reflect the core ethos of Bitcoin.
Embracing a decentralized and collaborative approach, the event encourages attendees to network with industry leaders, engage in insightful discussions, and share their knowledge with others. Previous editions have been graced by notable figures like Jeff Booth, Preston Pysh, Ben Perrin, and Natalie Brunell, making it a highly anticipated event in the Bitcoin community.
Expanding the BTC Diploma Program
In addition to the Unconference, Mi Primer Bitcoin continues to make strides with its Bitcoin Diploma program, which was launched in early 2022. The program aims to provide comprehensive education on various aspects of Bitcoin, including the history of fiat money, BTC’s development, and the challenges it faces.
Since its inception, the Bitcoin Diploma program has reached over 30,000 students in El Salvador over the past three years. The 2023 workbook has been translated into 23 languages, facilitating independent learning from South America to Asia.
On September 18, MPB announced that the BTC diploma workbook would expand further into Zambia, with translations into the Nyanja, Bemba, Tonga, and Lozi languages. This expansion underscores MPB’s commitment to making Bitcoin education accessible worldwide.
Collaboration with El Salvador’s Ministry of Education
Mi Primer Bitcoin has also partnered with El Salvador’s Ministry of Education to promote Bitcoin adoption and financial empowerment in the country. This collaboration aims to integrate the BTC diploma curriculum into the public education system.
As part of this initiative, the program is set to educate 700 public school teachers, equipping them to deliver the BTC curriculum to students. By April, nearly 100 educators had graduated from the program, and by September, another 100 teachers had commenced the 10-week training course.
Bitcoin continues to garner global attention, with current trading prices reflecting its growing influence. As of now, Bitcoin (BTC) is trading at $63,250 on the weekly chart.
